Save YouTube Videos
Have you ever watched an YouTube video that you want to save to your computer or Sansa, for easier access later? Maybe you liked a video so much you want to save it to show you friends?
You can always find it again using the Internet, but how about just downloading it and saving it forever? Instead of having to worry about the name or where it is, here is a way you can download it to your computer or server and have it forever.
Here is an example of how you can do this. We will use the most popular video on Youtube, "The Evolution of Dance", but you can do this with any YouTube video.
To save a video to your computer and Sansa you need to do is convert the YouTube video and save it to your computer.
This is easier than it sounds. There are several websites that will do this for you. I like Vixy.net but if you just google "convert Youtube videos" you will find there are several websites and programs available to convert them.
In this example I am gong to show you how I do it using Vixy.
Once you find the video you like, just copy the website address in your address bar. In this case its "http://youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg then go to Vixy.net and paste the address into their site. You should see something like this.
Now just click on the Start button and their site will do all the work. It will convert the video and once done it will let you download it as an AVI file.
You will probably get it as a filename something like 6bad4cb21bc0bafe12a420e36d434abc.avi, but all you have to do is rename the AVI file as something better. In this case, I would name it Evolution of Dance.avi.
Thats all there is to it. You now have the video saved on your computer or server and can access it quickly whenever you want to watch it again.
