I like what I see of the UI. :) Simple as always, but somehow refreshing. :)

Hey guys! Obviously I'm new here and I just want to share my new-found excitement about my new Sansa Fuze purchase which I will be getting tomorrow. There's quite a story to this though, and I won't bore you with the details other than I only recently discovered that the Fuze supports Rhapsody Channels--this, after going mad trying to find out WHY Sansa discontinued the e200R series as well as trying to figure out HOW to order the updated version of that being the RhapPFS e200. The WHOLE time the Fuze was sitting right under my nose. And this, after having already bought AND returned an Ibiza Rhapsody(defective & too big), a regular Sansa e200 series(without Rhapsody Channels support), and a Microsoft 8GB Zune which was too big and awkward to handle. NOW I'm in Heaven! I really think that I have found my ideal MP3 player which is small, has lots of features for the money, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, has the Rhapsody DNA that I have sooo craved!! I have also read the online reviews about the Fuze and all of them gave it 4 out of 5 stars which sounds promising. I cannot WAIT to begin using it! Oh, and Brandon? Thanks for the welcoming email!

I have not downloaded the SMC yet. I have been doing my homework on the video conversion and noticed that there appears to be quite a bit of bugs with the conversion. I also, read that a newer version of the firmware should be coming out to better support the different file formats.

Ok, now that is out. I am trying to download the lastest version of the SMC and all of the links that I hav found are corrupt or the links are broken. Even the link directly from Sandisk.com/sansa/support. Is there another link that actually works? The forums give a few, but they are broken.

Tri_tri1,
Thanks for pointing out the link was incorrect to the converter program. It is now fixed and you should be able to get it there.

I have downloaded the SMC after the link was fixed. No problem. I still experience problems loading some videos and movies (most) to the Sansa Fuze. Maybe a memory issue when saing the temporary file.

I am experiencing freezes on my Sansa when fast forwarding a video or movie. Then ican't even power it off. Tried plugging the charger in, but that did not hlp. i basically just wait for hours on end then try to power it off again. Any advice on that one, Brandon? I was thinking about returning it and getting a new one. maybe it is defected or comething.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!!

Try it by putting your Fuze in MTP mode. Under USB settings.

I think I have found a method that will easily convert video to the sansa fuze. Once I have tested this on 3 other sansa boxes later this week, I will let you know the solution. I have been able to convert just about anything to my player.
Most of the movies I have get shrunk to 300 mb to my player. Sansa is really one of the best machines out there. But there are some limitations......ease of video conversion, too delicate, screen scratches easy, and it wants to sync everytime you put it on a PC which causes me to have double mp3 songs...But despit that, it is the most portable, memory upgradeable is excellent, video display is as good as any other player, and the battery life is great....Also one draw back is my spindle gets stuck sometimes.....I actually broke the on switch by using rubbing alchohol to clean it out and the circuit shorted out because I did not let it dry out. However I am still able to connect to my PC and convert media to it......If it could only stream music from across the WWW....

The conversion of video files takes too long. I couldn't imagine how I could convert and watch movies on my sansa fuse, it will take a life time. Is there any quicker way?

Just found this page, I have a SANSA Fuze, and I wonder... how to I transfer video from LINUX? (I have just updated to kubuntu 9.04)... it shouldn't advertise as linux compatible if it is not FULLY compatible...

If you know how can I make it work it will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers! jC

Ok for the people that have been going crazy like me trying to get this thing to work and put videos on their fuze I have found the solution and am in heaven. It kind of strange but it works. Download PSP Video 9 convert your files and then start smc press add media and go to the directory where the coverted file is and add it to sansa media converter and press convert. After a few moments it will start the coversion process and you will be good to go. Props to the guy who posted this solution on Yahoo Answers. I am using this method as I type this.

My sansa fuze in not connecting to my PC, so I need a memory card and a

card reader to upload songs and videos to my fuze. As SMC only converts

video with the device plugging in, I can't upload any video to my fuze.

So is there any other video converter which will convert my video for

my fuze and save it to my PC? So that I can copy and past the converted

video file to my memory card later.

Not that I am aware of as I look for just such a thing until I came to the solution that I mentiond above. Why is it that sandisk knows there is a problem and have yet to do anything to fix this issue. I love the player however, if you want to do more then just listen to music and look at picture then look else where as it is to much of a hassle to load video on to the sansa fuze. I spent quite a lot of frustrating hours look and eventualy finding out how to do it and so have all the rest of you. Take note Sandisk. It is about ease of use not just good looks.

But the solution you mentioned above consists of using SMC, which doesn't convert untill the device is connected. As I mentioned before, my device wont connect my PC, the only way I could upload songs, videos and picture to my fuze is by a memory card and a card  reader.

Sorry Sorry for the late late reply......... The video conversiom is primarily dependent on one thing that I noticed to make a difference when uploading videos to your sansa players... Use a Video converter like xilisoft, or AVS to convert the file to an MPEG-1 compression type, then run it through the Sansa Media Converter....I was able to get full length movies on my player and two other friends sansa players...If you have an actual DVD file type then It will be a little trickier. I am trying to transfer a video onto my fuze but haivng problems. It is an auhtorized digital copy from Warner Bros. It plays back fine on my PC and it a wmv file. It said the format was not supported, so I successfully download SMC and it says the file is not supported, but it's a wmv so I stuck. ANy thoughts?
