"Love Me Dead" by Ludo

This song is my new obsession, but before you read my comments you need to listen to the song and watch the video:
It appears to be about a love/hate relationship.
Our anti-hero (in this case, the songwriter) laments that his wicked muse toys with his emotions. The line "Fill my soul with vomit, Then ask me for a piece of gum" suggests she poisons his heart by whatever means, then condescendingly flirts by requesting he share his Juicy Fruit with her, which only gets the poor boy's hopes up once more.
He's obviously conflicted by these notions, as illustrated in the bridges (lines like, "You're awful, I love you" and "You're hideous, and sexy" preface each chorus). Also, why does his evil queen berate him so? It "must be the sign on my head, It says 'love me dead.'" that suggests this bitch is "loving" this poor guy to death.
The beat, like the theme of the lyrics, goes up and down; sometimes it'll be a few guitar chords and half-sung words, then break into full-on frustration. How do you put a song into words?
It's great, that's all I can say!
The sound kind of reminds me of 1990's Weezer, but feel free to disagree. The guy in the video (singer/songwriter Andrew Volpe) even reminds me of Rivers Cuomo with his Buddy Holly-glasses and pompadour... but he sounds a little more emo.
Given this sound, the video is surprisingly refreshing. Each lyric is dramatically over-acted by members of the band and supporting cast.
I had my suspicions that the band took their name from one of my favorite movies (Labyrinth, anyone???) and once a quick Wikipedia check confirmed my theory; these guys have officialy made their way into my heart.
Check 'em out.
