Susan Boyle - What do you think?

Susan Boyle's astounding, sudden success just keeps on growing.

The dowdy, 47-year-old unemployed volunteer church worker from Blackburn, Scotland stunned judges, audience members and viewers alike a week ago with her performance of "I Dreamed A Dream" from "Les Miserables," and now the YouTube clip of her appearance has been seen more than 25 million times..

She has been all over the TV and even has been interviewd by Larry King.

Here Susan Boyle sings 'My Heart Will Go On' for CNN's Larry King show.

What do you think. Flash in the pan or is she going somewhere?

Lady Gaga - Just Dance

What do guys think about Lady Gaga? I think her songs are great and very upbeat. They are great for listening to or dancing to.

I am adding this to my Sansa Playlist. What about you?

Flo Rida - Right Round

Flo Rida created a new new song that is topping the charts right now. It is loosley based on the original song but he put some much more into it.

Here is the original 'Right Round' by Dead orAlive.

Here is Flo Ridas song.

I am kinda digging Flo Ridas version. What do you think?

Crack a Bottle by Eminem

Crack a Bottle by Eminem is in the top ten right now but I have to say that it is not that good.

Very repetetive and not that inventive. What do you think?

Should John Legend sing "Lets get it on"?

Here is what I consider the best version of Marvin Gaye singing Let's get it on.

And here is my favorite song by John Legend. Slow Dance.

They are both great! What I am wondering is... Do you think John Legend should cover 'Let's get it on'?

Does Anyone Listen to Howard Stern?

I just read an article on the New York Times that said no one cares about Howard Stern anymore. For your information it is here.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/28/business/media/28radio.html?ref=business

I for one would have to agree. Between the Sirius/XM debacle and the fact that he is no longer a "Shock Jock", especially on Sirius he is just another channel that may or may not be interesting. All he has anymore is a show about "nothing" just like Seinfeld had.

They talk about what happened during their time between shows and what personal things the "stars"did and things like that.  Do the masses care what Artie did when on vacation, or what Wendy the Retar.. or Nap A%% Ed, or what Eric the Midget (Actor) etc, did lately? I don't know but it is old news and he is throwing out there.

Howard, you are now on Sirius, you need to step it up or just play out your contract. From what I see you are trying to just play out your contract. Anyone could do that.

Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted

I am kinda getting hooked on Slanted and Enchanted, the indie band Pavement's album

This was re-released not too long ago and combines some of their best EP songs with a live concert at the end.

For those that didn't buy the reissue, these are a must-hear!

In fact, this is one of those rare times when the extra material is just as intriguing as the actual album.

Take a little time and listen to this and let me know what you think.

I Kissed a Girl - before?

Many of you may not remember this, but Jill Sobule had a hit with a song entitled "I Kissed a Girl" back in 1995, long before Katy Perry exploded with her own tune; a different song with the same title. Here's the first time we "Kissed":

Unlike my feelings for a similar situation involving a Rhianna song that shares the title of a Madonna hit ("Take a Bow" anyone?), I actually really like both versions of this song. They both have different sentiments, so I don't feel like it's an original that's being recycled. But... what does the first girl-kisser have to say about the latter?

Jill Sobule spoke out: “I don't feel precious about the title, but I've gotten tons of e-mails from annoyed fans....Some think it’s more of a Girls Gone Wild thing than anything shocking or empowering to true gay feelings....Maybe I'll write a third 'I Kissed a Girl' for fun. It will be about how I kissed her, I left the dull boyfriend, got gay-married in California, and really no one gave a s---.

Sid Melancon Country's Rising Star

If you are into Country Music you should check out Sid's Album.

"On My Own" by Sid Melancon is a collection of impressive country songs brought to you with a modern sound and a bit of tradition. The album is strong in many ways. The lyrics are clever and tell a story. Sid's vocals are certainly memorable, both in terms of excellent pitch as well as his well-suited country voice. The excellent harmonies in the choruses of many of these tracks are also noteworthy. The arrangements and musicianship behind Sid's vocals are professional, lively, and well layered. Overall the CD has a commercial radio-ready professional quality. Highlights include "Stronger in Love," a tale of love lost that is a definite sing-along. "Done Her Wrong" is a high energy upbeat tune, with a nice walking bass line and fun solos. "Just What to do" is another "barn-burner" with nothing but a good time in mind. If you enjoy country music, especially male country vocalists, you'll like this one.
