I have a Sandisk Sansa e250, and my problem is...

The scroll wheel won't work if you're turning it clockwise, but there's no problem with it counterclockwise.  I cannot turn up the volume or the brightness.  I mean, the wheel still turns obviously, but it just works backwards. I have asked on every different site on the net and either people don't answer or tell me the same thing.

I have updated the firmware, reset it and formatted it, but nothing works.  My phone don't work, and I think that's the only way to contact Sandisk is through the phone.  I can't afford a new MP3 player now, and really hope this problem is fixable.  I got it last October, but don't think there's a warranty.  This happened to me before a couple of months ago, but it fixed itself.

Please Please Please help me.  I'm running out of options.

Thanks!

There are times when we all need tech help.

Our article Sansa Resources: Where to Go For What You Need is a great place to start.

You will see that you don't need a phone to get help. There is an email: support@sandisk.com

Something about your story strikes me as odd: Is it possible that you have the tech-skills to "update firmware" but can't figure out how to make a tech phone call without your personal phone? And is it possible that you joined on July 20, posted this forum request, but never came back to get the help you asked for?

But even while considering the possibility that this post is (uh) a deliberate attempt to plant a sour note:

I'm genuinely curious if others have issues with scroll wheels? Or is this a fake issue?

And if so, you find Sansa quick to fix what is wrong?

It's all about the music, man.

First of all, I did not know that you could contact Sandisk without a phone.  I have not come back to this web site because I have it set to where I am emailed every time someone responded.  I had not gotten emailed, therefor I knew no one had answered my question. The problem with the scrollwheel is a real problem. I contacted Sandisk, told them what my problem was and they told me instructions on how to fix it, but it did not work, so they gave me an even exchange. I would not waste my time making threads for a problem that does not exist.
