You should be able to connect the player to a Windows 2000 PC if you put the USB mode to MSC. Seems like some users have troubles getting it to work, but it's worth a shot.

Depending on the version of e200, if its a version2 on the back of the player in the bottom right corner you will see e260v2, you may have to update the firmware first to get the USB Mode feature from the settings menu. But if thats the case, you will need access to an XP or Vista Box so the player is recognized. Once you have it connected, download the firmware from here , decompress\unzip the folder and drag the file(s) into the player. Then once all the files have been copied to the player, disconnect and the firmware will update from there. Then you can go to the settings menu of the player, locate USB mode and choose MSC...

Happy listening

Lowjack,
If someone were to DL the Sansa Firmware Updater, which you can get here.

Would it get them the latest firmware?

Well this issue lies not in the player in this case but the computer itself.
Windows Xp and higher all have MTP driver support which is the native support of the Sansa line (except for the Shaker...)
Most of the sansa players (... nope ALL, *sigh except for the connect that is... man its late) anywho have the ability to either have MSC selected or forced.
The reason why the player has to be in MSC mode for any Windows OS that isn't XP or higher is due to the lack of MTP driver support of that operating system.

But all in all, place the player in MSC and you'll be good to go
