Thanks for the tip! Helps a lot!
I bought my Sansa e280v2 from Costco. Like many of you, it did not come with the so called "CD" and/or "software" included. It took me a while to find the NEWEST Sansa Media Converter. Many people posted the OLD software or said it was "on SanDisk's download page". They really made it difficult for me to solve the issue.
Anyway, just visit the link and end your troubles

I think I had to create an account and register. It only took a few seconds and it was worth getting over the stress. Hope this helps.
PSGeek716, Thank you soooooooo very much!!! I bought a refurbished Sansa e250 and couldn't get the Sansa Media Converter to work. That was until I read your feedback and followed your wonderful referred link and whalah! Your recommendation worked liked a dream! Again, thank you!!!
Thanks for the tip. I guess downloads allowed without registering too, right?

Yes. You can download without registering. Here is the direct link without registering: http://www.sandisk.com/driverdownload/driverList.asp
Then, just scroll down to "Sansa Media Converter", fill in "circle" and then download. Good luck!
I downloaded the media player using your link but it says it is like 84 something mb or whatever and is to big to open on my laptop. Is this the right size or did i do something wrong. Id like to convert my dvds is there any other way. Any help is appreciated
Looks like Sandisk moved their downloads.
You can download the latest one here.

Stk119,
This is correct the SMC has a fairly basic GUI, but the codecs are where it really takes a bulk of the memory. But all in all, yes that is the correct size
Is it normal for it to take long for full movies?
sadly yes. The SMC takes a bit of time due to a factor of CPU speed, Process priority/availability and just a general slow decoding/transcoding process.
What player do you have?

It has to be within the specs of the View's video playback. I have a thread and article about the AVC for the View that you may want to check out
