somehow i have lost the connecting software cd that came with my sansa connect, i had to reformat my laptop and now my computer doesn't even recognize my player. The result is not being able to download any music onto my player. I have gone to the offical sansa website but there is not anything on line for the connect, so i was wordering if anyone had any ideas of how i ca get my music into my player or a website, or anything that could help me out.

Windows should recognize the player automatically when you plug it into your laptop.

If no window pops up when you do, then take a look in explorer and see if it shows a Sansa Connect folder at the bottom. If not then I would guess something in your new Windows install is making it so your Connect is not recognized.

Maybe one of you more "tech savvy" people out there can give me a hand. I purchaced a Sansa Connect 4gb mp3 player last February. I haven't had any peoplems with it until yesterday. I deleated some music to make room for some more. I put about 100+ songs on it. Right after that, it froze on me. It will not go past the welcome screen. I tried to do the Connect Recovery thing after the fact. When I downloaded it and set the mp3 to do the connect recovery, the box that you click "OK" on said that my internet was not connected and to try again when it was. However, if that was the case, I wouldn't be sitting here asking for help...on the internet! The mp3 player is still plugged in to the USB jack and it does say, "Recovering....Please wait...." on the screen. I don't know if that means it is actually "recovering" or there is just another malfunction with all of this tech stuff. If this makes sence to anyone(because it doesn't to me), I would appreciate your insight! Thank you!

Karla;

There was a problem with the Sansa Connect Recovery Tool, but it's recently been fixed. Unfortunately, the fix means that the WiFi features of the player (Internet Radio and Flickr photos) have been disabled. If you don't care about that, here is the new Recovery Tool, and instructions on how to use it:

If you do want to keep the WiFi features, you're going to need to manually do the recovery. It's a little techie-ish, but the directions are in a user forum and people there will help you out if needed:

I have had my Sansa Connect for quite some time now. it was previously installed on another computer. Unfortunately, that computer crashed recently, and i was forced to get a new one. After relocating to several different states because of the military, I somehow managed to lose the cd and any installation hardware that goes with it. All I have it my USB cord and charger. Is there anyway for me to install it on the new computer? Also, I am unable to fix the

The Sansa Connect doesn't require any special drivers, all it needs is for you to have Windows Media Player version 10 or higher installed.

Do you have Windows Media Player version 10 or higher installed?

If so, try all the USB ports on your computer, especially the ones on the back.

If that doesn't work, try another computer that has Windows Media Player version 10 or higher installed.
