Hi Sansa Community!

I've gone & lost the software for my Sansa Connect, and am now on a new PC to boot. I've downloaded Yahoo! Music Jukebox, and it will not recognise my player.

I'm wondering if there was some other software that I needed to hook up the device so based around connectivity. :/ (yes sansa, that's a little gripe from a little nobody). I can't use the PC I had originally to connect the software, so that's right out, and quite frankly I'm at my wits end.

HELP!

(oh, and thank you as well)

The minimum requirements for the player is Windows Media Player 10 running on Windows XP Service Pack 1. This is important because this is an MTP device, and the drivers for all MTP devices are packaged as a part of Windows Media Player 10 and higher. If you are running on Vista, then your computer already has the drivers installed; please let us know and we will provide different troubleshooting steps from those that follow.

Which version of Windows are you running? You can find out by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties, or opening the Control Panel and selecting System (if you do not see System, try Performance and Maintenance first.) The exact version will be listed as such:

Microsoft Windows XP
xxxx Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack x (may not appear)

You must have at least Windows XP with Service Pack 1. If you have an earlier version of windows, you will need to update to XP in order to use this device. If you do not have any Service Pack listed, you will need to update. Service Pack 1 is sufficient but Service Pack 2 is recommended.

We also need to check the version of Windows Media Player you have. Open Windows Media Player and on the top of the window are a few menus: File, View, Play, Tools, and Help. If you do not see these menus, try tapping the F10 key, or right-click on the top part of the window. Click on Help, then About Windows Media Player.

The minimum requirement is Windows Media Player 10. If it does not display a version number or it claims version 9, you will need to update. Windows Media Player 11 is recommended and preferred, but you will need Service Pack 2 in order to install it. It is recommended that you update to SP2 if you haven't already; if you are unable to update to SP2, or you have a very slow internet connection and need a faster download, Windows Media Player 10 is sufficient.

I'm running XPSP2. My OS isn't my problem, at least not in theory. Every time I try to mount it like I would any other MTP device (MSC would make this so much easier) I don't get the Da-ding! noise. I get a Du-Du-Du noise...

I'm updating to WMP11 (was on 10). We'll see where this leads me.

Are you plugging it to a front or back port?
You may also need to uninstall WMP completely, including the 9.5 runtime and reinstall.
Or try installing the MTP Porting Kit from Microsoft

Seems like everyone I have talked to that bought one of these recently are having problems with this. Nobody has found an answer yet either. I have a Sansa e260 and no problems, but these new ones, Fuze, Connect, etc. are trash it seems.
