well this time i think its my fault.So this is wat happend i was deleting some music from my view but i was deleting a lot and clicked on the delted button over and over sometimes doing 15 or so in a row and i think thats what scrwed up my view. Now when i turn it on and charge it,it just says SanDisk Sansa,is there any way of fixing this,p.s i have tired the reset thing but it didn't work and yes i let the battery die but nothing has happend if i charge it just says Sandisk Sansa,so if anyone know how to fix it plz tell me.

There is a way to reset it, had to do it once before with the help of their tech support. I didn't write down the steps, so you might want to call them and have them walk you through it.

So i got an email about this  it went like this "Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical Support. It is our goal to make sure you have all the resources you need to get the most from your product.

Let's try to either reset the player or we can also update or refresh the firmware on the player.

To reset the player, we hold the power switch, which is located on the left side of the player, up for about 20-30 seconds or until the player no longer shows power, such as lights no longer on. We also recommend letting the player charge for about 2 hours. After it has been charged, we'll try to turn it on again.

If resetting the player didn't work, we can try a firmware update on the player. First, download the firmware from the following link:

Click on the link and save that file to your desktop or to a location which you can locate later. After it's done downloading, locate the file and then right click on it, and select Extract or Extract All. Go through the Wizard on your screen. When done you should be able to see 5 files. Now do the following on your player, make sure the player is off, if it's not off, press and hold the power button up until player is off. After the player is off, place the hold switch on the lock position, the lock switch is the same as the power button, but instead of moving it up, you move it down. After the lock switch has been engaged, press and hold the "Home" button, which is located on the top right corner of the scroll wheel. As you're holding the Home button, connect it to your computer and wait for the computer to find your device. To make sure that your computer installed the player properly, open up Computer or My Computer and it should be listed here. Once you see it under Computer or My Computer, copy those 5 files we extracted earlier and paste them into the View. Once those files have been pasted in there, close all open windows and disconnect the player from the computer. Once disconnected, it should update its firmware.

Let me know if that helped." so i did what they asked and yet my player never updated its firmware,do you remeber anything else when you had this problem Brandon? Oh well if you dont i well just make a video about my problem and send it to them or post it right here.Thanks for all your help though.

New Sansa Firmware Updater (Windows Version Only) -

The latest Sansa Firmware Updater will update the View to the latest firmware. If you do not have the Sansa Firmware Updater it can be downloaded on the following page (click the link) - http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376


If you prefer to use the drag and drop file method, then please follow the instructions below.


Mac and Linux users can connect their View in MSC mode and follow the instructions below.
MSC mode instructions:

Turn on the View
Put the device in Hold (move Hold button until orange is showing)
Press and hold the Left Button
Plug the 30 pin connector into the device (be sure the USB is plugged into the computer)
Wait for View drive(s) to mount
Follow instructions above and drag files to the View drive

You can download the .zip file by clicking on this link.
or clicking on this link for the newest firmware bringing out the long awaited MSC mode.


Extract the .zip file into a folder on your computer.
Once extracted, drag all five files file to the root directory of your Sansa View.
Disconnect the Sansa View and let it restart. (see notes below)
The firmware update will now begin.
Once it finally finishes doing its update, it will boot back up. Once its back to the main menu, head to "Settings / Options" > "System Settings", and verify the "Version" is now 01.02.09 or 01.03.02 depending on the version you wanted.
