I don't believe it is. But there are several kits out there for the Sansa.
Does Anyone know if the cable NORMALLY used to connect an IPOD to the computer to charge/connect is compatable with the Sansa View? I am only getting about 5-6 hours of music playing time and that JUST music not watching video, just turning on music and then sticking it into a backpack. Needless to say its frustring to be listing to a audiobook and have it stop playing 4 hours into my workday and being in a truck without a cigerret light to plug the car chager into means my listening time is over until I can get home. I Want to buy a portable charger but am scared to waste money on a ipod emergency charge if its not compatible with my View and then even possible risk frying my View. Thanks
Thanks for the confirmation Zeke. There are several kits out there now for the Sansa that should solve the OP's problem.
Most are at a good price too.
BTW, and off topic, I would love to hear about the Nike-Hercules Missile sometime and your involvement.
Just an update, the Ipod cable and any accessory made for Ipod for that matter, while having the same 30 pin connector, do NOT operate the same way. The Ipod uses higher voltage as well as having their data pins relate to things differently than the Sansa cables do.
In short, Ipod ANYTHING with ANY sansa player = brick

Off the topic as you noted but I hope it's OK to reply here....
I was in the Nike Ajax/Hercules Missile program from 1960 thru 1966. I started as an IFC Acq radar operator. Eventually I was trained to fix AN/FPS-75 ABAR radar used on some Nike sites. I was stationed in NJ, NE and TX during that time period. Many stories to tell!. It's a fading past of an important time during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Check ed-thelen.org....lots of Nike stuff!

Thats some cool stuff. The history of how, when and why of this stuff is very interesting. I am going to look into it. In the mean time, before Apix, jumps on us for being off topic, maybe we need to do some reviews on power supplies for the Sansa.
I will check into it and if possible maybe you can help.
Lol, I can't say anything for off topicness after my E.T comment on a different post :)
