I have a Sansa Fuze. I'm told that in order to flash the firmware from Linux, I need to go into recovery mode. However, I can't find out how to go to recovery mode. Is there a way, or do I need to do something else to flash the firmware? Please don't say to do something in Microsoft Windows as I cannot afford my own copy of Windows (I got this computer from a friend who thought it was broke because his Windows crashed out completely on him, so I had to install Linux in order to use it).

Go to

Info
This displays information regarding your Sansa Fuze (such as firmware rev, total
memory, free memory, number of songs loaded, etc.)
1. Scroll down to Info and select it.
2. Press the |<< to return to previous menu.
USB Mode
6. Scroll down to USB Mode and select it.
7. Use thumbwheel to select MSC.

This should work

Thanks for your reply.

How will changing USB mode to MSC help me flash the firmware? And where do I get the firmware, anyway? (I'm too busy to do much googling :/ )

Linux, should recognize that you have the Fuze connected in MSC mode. Far as the firmware, ya, I know you are busy but you need to go here and check out the support info http://www.sandisk.com/sansa/#/support-0/
