Q: When I connect my View to my computer, it isn't recognized.. what do i do?
A: 1st: make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
2nd: Check the device manager (if this is a windows PC), if the View shows up with a "!" mark, right-click on the driver, and select Uninstall. Then disconnect the View and re-connect it. If that fails, right-click and select update driver
3rd: If that fails, try downloading the MTP Porting Kit from Microsoft.com (XP) or download the KB940199 (Vista)
4th: If all the above fail, either force the player into MSC Mode (hold switch and press and hold the left or rewind button) and connect to the computer (done while the View is on). Or if you have the latest firmware (01.03.02), go into System Settings, and select USB Mode, and change it to MSC and connect it.
If the player isn't recognized after all that, in either MTP or MSC mode (Autodetect is MTP BTW), try it on another computer. If it's recognized on another computer, then it's a Computer issue, and you'll want to contact your OEM or Microsoft. If it ISN'T recognized, then it's the View, at which point you'll want to call SanDisk 1-866-Sandisk and get a RMA started.
Q: My Videos only play audio, the screen is black, what do i do?

Q: (Providing the picture is in the correct format) My pictures show the thumbnail, but when i try to view them at full screen, it just shows me a generic Photo.
A: Go to More, Setttings/Options, System Settings, and select Reset All. The pictures should be visible after this
Q: Mybattery isn't getting anywhere near the advertised battery life.. what's wrong?
A: This can be due to multiple reasons.
1: The battery life was tested with normal settings (i.e moderate volume, brightness, bitrate etc)
Change your settigns to more moderate levels (or just use the Reset All). Make sure your bit-rates are at 128Kbps (as that's the level playback was tested with)
2: If the above is already done, it may be your firmware. 01.02.09 was well known to decrease battery life significantly. Either downgrade the firmware to 01.01.06 or upgrade your firmware to the new 01.03.02. (upgrade recommended)
Q: I have an Ipod, and I lost my View cable.. can I just use the Ipod cable?
A: NO! If you do that, it WILL FRY YOUR VIEW (or any other sansa for that matter). The Ipod cable is configured differently (even though it may look exactly the same). DO NOT for any reason use anything Ipod with a Sansa
Q: I have an Ipod speaker system, can I use the View with it?
A: NO, essentially for the same reasons above. Ipods also use higher amperage, this WILL turn your View into a paper weight.
Q: My View isn't turning on anymore.. what do I do?
A: Normally the player has just frozen in an "off" state. To fix this, slide the power switch on the left side of the player up and hold for 30 seconds (actual seconds, not just "this seemed like 30 seconds"). Once done, let the power switch down, and then try to power it on normally.
I'll try to keep this updated with frequent problems
