tgirl, I love your comments, but alas I still don't have a Fuze to test that with. Yuo may want top call Sansa tech support and ask them about it, just to see if they have been seeing problem.

It's meeee again...lol!! Has anyone else had the problem of turning on the Sansa Fuze switch only to have it come on and then freeze with the logo showing? It's happened to me quite a few times now and I have to keep turning it off and turning it on again to get it to operate normally. Is there some kind of a glitch problem that I could fix so that it doesn't continue?
Hmm, sounds like it may be a firmware glitch.. what's your current firmware revision on your fuze?
To check the firmware revision, go to the settings menu, then to system settings, then to Info. The firmware revision will be the first string of numbers at the top starting with .01
All-righty then, the best thing to do when the firmware is likely to be buggy, and a update isn't available (since .11A is the most current firmware revision for the Fuze at this time), is to do perform a roll back and then re-update the firmware. And without further delay... heeerrreeee weeeee go:
1. Turn on the Fuze
2. Go to "System Settings" and then look for "USB Mode" then change it to MSC
3. Click the center button so it takes effect, then plug the Fuze into your computer. (If this is the first time it's being plugged in MSC mode, you should see a Found New Hardware message, once its done, open up My Computer and it should show up as a removable disk.
4. Now for the rollback you'd need to download the previous firmware revision. However for some reason, I can't seem to find the previous firmware revision for the Fuze ANYWHERE.... which is strange, as I have most of the firmware that was released for the Fuze and View... Sooo we'll make due with what I DO have and see if a simple re-flash will suffice.
4.2 Alrighty, so explanation aside, click HERE for the .11A manual firmware files.
5. Extract the files from the ZIP that you just downloaded, onto your computer. (I prefer the desktop so I can easily find it)
6. Once you hace the files extracted, select them all, and select Copy
7. Now go to My Computer, and open the Fuze and then paste those files into the root directory (meaning just in the main folder not anywhere specific like Music, Videos etc).
8. When it's finished copying over to the fuze, disconnect the player and watch the screen of the Fuze, it should say Firmware Update in progress
9. It should finish (can't remember if it restarts or not, if not, then you should be good to go.)
If all goes accordingly then you shouldn't have a problem with the Power switch anymore. If you DO still have a problem, I'd call 1-866-SanDisk (unless its less than 30 days old in which case I'd exchange it at the POP) but if you have to call SanDisk just tell them the situation, tell them you've already flashed the firmware and still the same effect, and that you need a RMA started.Geezsh Apix--whaddya do, write a book? Lol!! Thanks so much for the info, but, since I downloaded the Sansa Updater last night from the Sandisk website, so far, everything is working well. Now I KNOW that "updates" and "firmware" are 2 completely different things, but I can't help but think it MAY be the reason why my player is behaving thus far. I feel so badly though since you went through all the trouble of typing all this info out for me, but I MAY need it just in case it starts acting whacky again, so it's good to have. All I can do is wait and see what happens. Thanks again for your time & patience Apix--you're my little lifesaver!! :o)
Lol its no problem, hopefully if someone else is having the same problem, this will be able to help, and if all else fails, you can revert back to this. If this helps anyone out there then I'm happy
Apix is purty dang Smart,
But tigirl, you now are the featured member on the home page and the members page. Scroll to bottom on left side.
OMG(blushing)stooop--you guys are embarrassing me...lol!! Thanks so much for making me a featured member although it must be because I'm being a pain-of-the-***. What can I say? I'm a major audiophile, so I'm not gonna quit till my Fuze is PERFECT which we ALL know is NEVER gonna happen, so see--even MP3's aren't perfect...lol!! And you're right Brandon, Apix IS smart(and a sweetie) although you've been a great help as well. You've got a great group of people here, so I'm glad I joined. Thanks for making me feel welcomed guys!! :o)
^_^ hey without problems and things to figure out, this world would be very boring. I think I speak for Brandon and myself when I say, we're more than happy to be here helping anyone who needs it, and keep those questions coming ^_^
