Glad we could help.
The sleep timer would be cool. I am going to add that to the next poll. Thanks for the idea.
Hi All:
I've had my Fuze for about 4 days. Bought it to replace a Neuros (anybody heard of it?) that I'd been using for about 4 years - its harddrive took a dive and I initially thought I'd simply replace the drive with an even BIGGER one (100 Gb instead of only 30GB!) But then I found that the basic player had also failed - bummer!
So far I like the Fuze! its easy to navigate, drag & drop to load it is a breeze, and it was immediately recoognised and "syncable" by MediaMonkey. Also it sounds good with decent headphones or speakers.
Things I don't like: Proprietory connector that combines power and data functions, no built-in FM transmitter, no carrying case, and dispite the availablity of a User's Manual, it was not included in the package, nor did the packaging have a pointer to an on-line version, nor was it included in the Rhapsody (Wrap-so-deedle?) CD. No included power adapters.
Thanks to these Forums, I found and downloaded the manual.
If anyone else would like FM xmitter, and power adapters, here is what I've found:
a) Satechi FM Transmitter and Car charger for Sansa e series. The manufacturer assured me that it will also work with Fuze. Price is $30.
b)Sansa Premium Black Wall Charger for c and e series. I didn't check to determine if its compatible with Fuze, because for $0.71 if it isn't...
Both items available from Amazon. I expect to receive them late this week. I'll let the group know my results with them.
Now my question: Does the Fuze have a "sleep timer" function? I suspect not. Is it something that can be added via a firmware change? Is there a preferred procedure for submitting feature change requests to SanDisk?
Thanks,
alien
Well just a few things I'd like to address.
When you say no FM transmitter do you mean it can transmit to your car stereo so you can listen to the player through your car speakers? Cause the player does have a radio function.
The reason for the lack of a manual is, SanDisk took a more eco friendly approach a few years ago and made the sometimes quite lengthy manuals digital to save on paper.
Most companies use proprietary connection cables now a days, Apple, Sansa, Creative etc.
Lastly the power adapter is the the USB cable. It charges the player, unless you mean a 120/220 volt one for the wall, in which case you're correct.
Hope i was aiming in the right direction and this helped out a little bit :)
Thanks for your responses.

Bringing sleep timer to the developers attention would be great. I hope they'll act on it.
Apix:
Yes I did mean an FM xmiter so you can listen to the Fuze via the car's stereo without an external accessory.
"eco" friendly - Hummmmm! I suppose given that most (many?) people don't bother reading the manual; still it could be didtributed on the included CD.
I know most co.'s use proprietory stuff, but that doesn't make it right;
'course it's all about the bucks rather than customer convenience.
I did mean a wall wart for 120v charging. They are avaiable for separate purchase, but tend to be fairly expensive, but if the one for $0.71 works, it then becomes a matter of convenience. BTW - I do like the idea that plugging in the USB cable does provide charging, but separating the functions also allows charging when a computer isn't available.
lol, well I tried.
True though, they could include the manual on the CD, I just can't remember if that's a CD by Rhapsody or not.. gotta find one and double check. If it IS, then since Rhap and SD are two different companies, that would be understandable, but if its SD's CD that they put Rhap on... well then that's just silly

I received the FM Xmitter and the wall charger I mentioned in my original post. Both work just fine with the Fuze. The packaging for both specified that they were compatible with Sansa C and E series, but did not list the Fuze. I'm speculating that its cheaper for the manufacturer to sell them at blow-out prices rather than re-package. I'm happy with the deal.
alien,
Thats cool. I have been looking for a FM Xmitter, I am going to take a look at this one now. Thanks for the tip.
Glad I could help.
One thing I omitted to mention in my previous message - the packaging for the xmitter clearly reads "5 in 1 Kit for Sansa", but there is a label on the bottom of the device which says "iPod". Had I seen that before I tried it I probably wouldn't have used it. The label fortunately was in error!
