Tgirl, I feel for you!! I think I'd commit mayhem if I'd done that. My fear was having a disk crash wiping out my Library.
Have you checked the Wastebasket? If you haven't written anything to your disk you should be able to recover most of your files. If not in the wasttebasket there are programs that specialize in file recovery (look in Google). A note of caution - you'll have to install any such program, the act of installation may overwrite the files you want to recover, so if you have a choice install it to a different disk or partition.
Good luck,

I sooo need your help right now you have No idea. I did everything you told me to do as far as the MP3 Gain goes, and then I did something really stupid(surprise surprise). I was going through my Music Files and was "cleaning house" so to speak only I cleaned a little TOO much where I deleted EVERYTHING in the hopes of, when I go to redownload my music into my Rhapsody Library, that it wouldn't duplicate, so I figured I would just start fresh and delete everything and then redownload my subscription music from scratch except that it didn't download into my Music Folder at all. And THAT means I can't use the MP3 Gain where I have NO Music Files stored thanks to my tiny & useless brain-- HEEELPP!!
You delete the files on which the computer or Sansa? Not sure what you did.
Brandon pretty much took my question. Depending on which device it is, file recovery should (stressing SHOULD) be possible. Let us know which and we can go from there.. you should be all right in either case tho :)
What I did was delete everything that was in my Music Folder on BOTH my computer and Sansa Fuze because I wanted to start fresh and rebuild my Rhapsody Library as well as my Music Folder on my computer where everything kept duplictating every time I transferred everything from my Music Folder to my Rhapsody Library--hope that makes sense?? Lol!! I'm still in the process of rebuilding my Rhapsody Music Library(subscription tracks),but I thought that once I did that, the tracks would automatically go into my empty Music Folder on my computer like it always did before when I had ITunes, and even when I switched to Rhapsody. No luck--my Music Folder is STILL empty and I'm just looking to refill it again so that I can FINALLY use my MP3 Gain to tweak up the volume on my music. And no, "pea-brain" me decided to delete everything from my wastebasket(recycle bin)too. I think I'm going to cry...:(
Okay, NOW that I've calmed down short of having a STROKE, I'm just gonna continue on adding more to my library, but what I HAVE noticed is when I IMPORT my music from my CDS to my library is the only time a new music folder is opened up differentiated by artist. But MY concern is, as far as the MP3 Gain goes, does it work on my subscription music as well as my imported music, and if it does, then HOW??? Is there any way of my seeing the progess of that? That's all I'm really worried about right now. I just want to make sure that the MP3 Gain IS IN FACT working for BOTH my subscription music as well as the imported music. I even tried looking for answers on their site and it's all Japanese to me, so maybe one of you could explain it to me better step-by-step...thanks(AGAIN)...lol!! :o)
I'll need to do a test. Technically it should be able to modify a DRM protect song, but some licenses are very strict and wont allow the modification of the song in any way shape or form. Lemme run some tests on various DRM'd songs and I'll let you know.
And in a related note, for the songs on your computer that were deleted, if you want, go to the following link and select the Demo download and see if it finds your deleted music.. (it may take a little bit of time as data recovery can be a slow process). If it CAN find it and you want to get your music back, let me know

Hey Apix,
Sorry it took a while to get back to you--been pretty busy, but as far as my deleted music goes, I'm not even gonna sweat it anymore since I basically made it a point to re-do my music library to begin with, and the majority of the music was subscription music anyways. I just panicked, that all, but it's certainly not the end of the world for me...lol! As far as the MP3 Gain goes, I haven't noticed a volume change at all in my music, and I DID follow the "destructions" accordingly, which is why I'm hoping that when you conduct your test, you'll be able to find out if there IS a way I could enhance my subscription music as well as my music I downloaded from my CDs. I hope you can find a solution, and if anyone can it's certainly YOU...lol!! No rush, so if and when you find out anything, please let me know. Thanks again for your patience and hard work Apix--you're the best!! :o)
Good question. I'd say that I would like to equalize all of the songs AS WELL AS increase the volume on all of them although with MY luck, that would probably be impossible...lol!!
Gotcha,
Apix is working up a good how to article on usiong Audacity that should do everything you need.
Give us a few days and then you can check it out.
Sounds like what you're looking for is to add what's called Amplify. Does basically as the name suggests, this increases the volume as a whole instead of certain parametric frequencies (EQ).
This can be done with Mp3 gain, although without being able to see the wav and where clipping will occur...clipping..will..occur (well so much for not using the same words in a sentence twice). ... anywho this will cause a distortion in the music almost like if you have the volume cranked higher than your speakers can handle. I'll do a quick pictorial on the Audacity amplification and post it. Should have it up in about an hour
Just as an update, the article is finished, just waiting for the approval. Should be up by late tonight/tomorrow morning
