Hmmm could be a corrupt file making the database behave erratically. Try reloading the firmware first just in case. If it still persists, a format may be in order :/
I've recently began using WMP. After an attempt to sync with my View, when powering on my View, the unit hangs on the "refresh cycle". If I hold the power switch for a few seconds to the on/off position, the unit completes the refresh and the unit acts normal. Any ideas?

Try this...
Reset the device
1. Press the Power button and hold it for approximately 10 seconds.
2. Release the Power button once the device is powered down.
3. Turn the device back on.
