For some reason, when I hook my Fuze up to my computer, I never get the option for syncing anymore....the one where you can choose to use Windows media player, etc.  Was it supposed to continue to come up or did I do the same thing so many times that it assumes for me now?

My question is....how do I choose how Fuze syncs up on a case by case basis?  It synced up all my photos and I just don't want those on the Fuze to save space.  Or can I choose a preference somewhere so that it will not automatically begin putting everything on it when I connect to my laptop?

Thank you for any help!

Jill

Sounds like the auto play is turned on.

With Fuze plugged in
Go to My Computer, find the icon for the Fuze.
Right click on Icon and select Autoplay.

When it comes up if "Always do the selected action" is clicked on, click it off and choose what you want to open.

You should now be able to choose every time.

I chose "select an action" and then chose "take no action" with the big red icon.
Strangely enough, the option to choose each time was already chosen, so I opted for a back door solution.
Let's see if it works!

Thank you so much for replying! Right-clicking was something I'd not thought of!

I found that this just did not work, but I think I found another possibility:
From Windows Media Player, I chose the Sync tab, then chose Sansa Fuze, and then chose Set Up Sync....from there I unchecked the "sync this device automatically," and hit finish.

Trial and error!

Do be careful with this method though. If auto sync is enabled, if you delete anything from your WMP library, it will remove it from the player. It is going to try to create a mirror image of the WMP library whenever you connect.

If I unchecked the sync auto box, I should be okay right? Every time I hooked up, it started putting things on that I just didn't want.

It seems to have a mind of its own, and I'm trying to choose more of what happens!

lol yup, that's the auto sync doing its thing. If you de-select the autosync option, you should be just fine ^_^
