My e260 (4GB) screen broke (white screen). I took it apart, and looks like the internal memory board can be unplugged. Can I buy a cheaper e250 (2GB), and replace the board with the e260 for more memory?

Should be no problem.
The Operating System and everything is all on that removable memory.
So it should work just fine.

Tired of waiting for your device to do what you need it to?

Out of curiosity, did you try re-flashing the firmawre. Normally a white screen means either the firmware is messed up, or that the memory module just needs to be re-seated.

The cause of the white screen was due to my son plugging it to a iPod docking station. I've tried the re-flashing, but the sansa memory is empty and I could not add anything to its directory. My guess is that the main board is scrap now.

Is it still under warranty? Maybe a call to tech support, not mentioning the iPod thing, would get you a replacement. :)

Ya.. Ipod interface will kill most things.. Sansa players.. your brain lol (sorry, little bit of bias there :) )
You are correct however, the main board is shot. You may want to check Ebay, as they have many scrap parts players available
