I bought an e280fm (v2) some time ago which I almost only use for listening to mp3s and radio. Last week I tried to load a video (unprotected DVD) to the player. SMC converted the video but unfortunately video and sound are played asynchronously and the 'gap' between both grows each minute. At the end of the 50 minute film sound is played about five seconds after the corresponding pictures. Very annoying if you see and hear different people talking at the same time :( Besides: I tried to solve the problem by converting the video to *.avi, *.mp4, *.mov and so on - but that too didn't help (though the converted files were played fine in VLC, Quicktime and so on.

To me, it sounds like a SMC problem. Did you try Apix's AVC conversion?
You can see it here.

Hi Brandon,

thanks a lot for your reply. I read the thread linked above a few days ago but didn't try the AVC yet.

As I got it (wrong, possibly) Apix's AVC might work with Sansa View players but isn't supposed to work with the e2xx series players at all. I understood that I have to use the SMC to make my sansa e280 play videos. As written in my question I've already converted the video to *.mp4 (and other video formats) successfully. But simply copying the *.mp4-file to the players video folder didn't (and doesn't) work. Trying this I just get a message like: "Use Sansa MediaConverter to import this video file!"

If you think it's worth it I'll try and get back here afterwards.

ann,
I don't have a e2xx series so don't know for sure if it will work. Hopefully Apix or one of the other users will chime in.

Brandon,

I've tried the AVC but - as I've already assumed - it didn't work. I just get the message "Please use Sansa Media Converter to convert this video file". So I'll have to look around for another fix.

Nevertheless: thanks again.
