Hi,

When my Fuze player is attached to AUX port in my car,

and the volume is turned up, the player starts "skipping".

This doesn't happen with the same music when the headphones are attached instead.

Also, the car player doesn't "skip" when my son's iPod is attached, with the same cable,

so the problem is definitely with the Fuze.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

Maybe the Fuze is overloading the input. What happens when you turn the volume down on the Fuze and up on the radio?

Thanks for your reply Brandon!

When I turn the volume down on the Fuze and up on the radio,
the stuttering does not occur.

When I tested with my son's iPod and the same cable,
I could listen at a high volume- the problem did not recur.
So the problem is with the Fuze (and it's interaction with the radio).

As I said I can listen at high volume when using headphones.

I ensured the cable is seated firmly on both ends,
as I had read in a prior thread that an insecurely fastened cable
could cause high-volume stuttering.

I also tried turning the Volume setting from High to Normal in System Settings.
This did not fix the problem.

I am running firmware version 11.

Any thoughts?

Thanks very much,

Mike

Fixed my problem by using a fancy Radio Shack cable.
These players are apparently very sensitive to cabling used.

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

Depending on the cable, its possible that Digital Clipping was occurring.. however the player isn't used to handling D.C so it may have been having mini-shorts (its like a stroke... but for electronics lol.) glad to hear its working now though. Just thought i'd provide some reason to the rhyme :)
