OK I wrote recently that I was on my 3rd Sansa View, with no luck in getting more than 4 hours of battery life. I got no usable advice from "support". Now it seems by accident or something? I have gotten extended battery life. This is how it went. I got the 3rd one and charged it right away…did not take very long 10 minutes or less and the little green battery indicator moved rather slowly?…on using it I got no better battery life…then I was using it while working and it stopped...., I wasn’t able to get to it to turn it off for a while, maybe an hour or so. When I got back to the computer to plug it in nothing happened when It seemed dead to the world would not come on would not charge…totally dead. Maybe an hour later I plugged it in again…it started charging and the little green battery indicator was moving rapidly, something different. Not sure how long it charged….I let it play over night and…low and behold…in the morning, over 8 hours later it was still playing!!!! I used it this morning and it played for 4 hours more, the little green battery showed one notch down? I am charging it now and it has been at it for ½ hour or more…the longest charge cycle I have yet had? The little green battery indicator is moving rapidly……soooo. I think some how through this strange cycle I have finally gotten extended battery life. I was working with a chain saw, with other players they were affected by getting to close to the saw? Would have to turn them off and restart. So I don’t know if the chain saw did something or if not attending to it when it stopped did something but something good seems to have happened?

Something happened. Maybe for some reason the charging indicator was not reading the correct charge and what you did reset it.

Not sure, but glad its working now.

Its possible that the chain saw was emitting static discharge, though i've never experienced it while using a chain saw (the zapping effect that is)... EMI possibility is low, but always present when operating machinery.
But as brandon said, good it works now ^_^
