Hi

I've been a fan of J-Pop, before it was even called J-Pop "New Music".  Since the Early 1980's.  When I had the great honor to visit the land of my ancestors.

There is so much to J-Pop that there is no way it can be covered in a short message like this.  But, I hope this is enough to get the Sansa Community interested in this style of music.

J-Pop is an abbreviation of Japanese pop. It refers to Western-influenced Japanese popular music.

The term J-Pop is widely used in Japan to describe many different musical styles including pop, rock, dance, rap, and soul.

I really love the J-Pop and J-Rock music videos. The productions are really great.  Each J-Pop video is like a small 3 or 4 minute movie.  I really love the recent Ayumi Hamasaki productions GREEN/Days Which will be Ayumi Hamasaki's 44th single...

The following videos show a very tiny sample of J-Pop.  They show the range of style.  To me.  J-Pop seems to have something for everyone.

I think this video of Ayumi's Startin' has got to be one of the  funniest videos I have ever seen.Cool

Check it outLaughing  Please make sure you watch the video all the way to the end.  Otherwise you will miss a shcoker..........................  Click on the link below.

The following video interview.  IMOP tells the same story of many of the recent J-Pop music artists.  They have gotton their starts though "Sony Japan" and  Video game Sound tracks and Anime sound tracks.

Nami's Brightdown video is one of the hottest I have seen recently. Wink

Then we have the beautiful voice of  Ayaka

 And  hirahara ayaka's - Jupiter

Fantastic range...............

Angela Aki - Kiss Me Good-Bye -featured in FINAL FANTASY XII.

English Version

This is the song that was created for FFXII and is sung by Angela Aki mostly in Japanese.

I suppose I could go on forever.  Posting videos.  But I think It would be best for you to have fun  discoving J-pop on your own.

Just googl J-pop and you will find millions (yes millions) of Hit's.

But here are just a couple to help you get started.

I love J-pop! Of the above videos, Ayu's "Startin'" has gotta be my favorite!

January 15, 2009 6:17 PM updated: January 15, 2009 6:37 PM

Yes, Ayu's "Startin' is great too.

Have you seen Nami in a red dress?

I love Nami in a red dress.  She has to be around 16 years old in this next video.
I have USB flash drives filled with these JPOP, KPOP and anime videos.

I hope these become part of Slotradio cards.  One thing about JPOP is. The music is very hard to get licensed.  For some reason Sony Japan and others do not like to sell rights to jpop.  I think it has something to do with Video game sound tracks.

Anyway.  Here is Nami in a red dress.

She has sure come a long way since she made this video.

I have also just been reminded about Yuna Ito..............

Wow!  How could I forget about this video..........

Ito Yuna - I'm Here

Here is some history of Yuna ito.  just shows the power that 'SonyJapan" has.

I wouldn't think this would be part of the SlotRadio cards. Probably will be all Britney and Christina. :(

Yep,  I think your right.  Doesn't really matter to me anyways.  We already have lots on our IPOD's, Slacker Player, and like I said USB flash drives.

IMOP all these services have short time to live anyways.  The way things are going.  You will be able to listen to and watch anything, anytime and anywhere you want soon.  On demand.  For one low price.  And the price of the player.  Kind of like that Sprint TV comercial says.Wink

Now all they need is to make a battery that runs forever.

Since BOA is on many of the Asian, Japan, English and  Korean charts for many years now.

If you Sling Box ever stops working you can use this site as a backup.
It's free.  You don't need freepass to use it.

J-pop prepares an assault on the West in '09

" I wouldn't want to shout about it (since it might upset your New Year's hangover), but 2009 might just be the year that J-pop goes global. Several heavy hitters have set their sights on Western domination this year, and more than ever, their chances seem good."

For a long time I just attributed certain Japanese oddities to cultural differences; they are a VERY different society. But that's also what makes them so cool! JPOP is right, something for everyone, and as the old saying goes, "Takes all kinds!"

P.S. Jpop, thanks for all the cool links!

January 28, 2009 5:26 PM

I agree, J-pop is great for anyone. you just have to love the art in it when they sing and dance. :)Audio books
