Sansa supplies a free video converter for their products. So you should be ok there.
my ipod recently blew up and i hate apple. so i'm looking for a new player and i saw the sansa fuse and it seems to be really good.
when i got my video ipod i had to buy more software to convert my dvds so i could watch them on my ipod. is this the same with the sansa fuze?
I'm not sure that the free utility that comes with Sansa players is a DVD ripper, I think it's just a media converter. DVD rippers are different in that they take the contents of a DVD disc (which are encrypted) and dump them into a folder (or a .BIN file)
That being said, you'd have to buy a DVD ripping program no matter what video player you use, Apple or otherwise :)
There are also many free programs out there (non-Sansa) that work incredibly well for media conversion, such as HandBrake and ffmpegx. I've used both and they rock.
I've never played with the Sansa Fuze myself, but have heard it's an awesome player.
cheers for the help. Handbrake wouldn't work on my pc for some reason but i found a free dvd ripper which works great. many thanks and hello
Check out DVD decrypter here at http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ before paying for a DVD ripping program. It works pretty good for me even though its it is kinda old.
