I bought my Sansa from one of those discount places that sells cheap end lots and refurbs, the guy said it had wifi and one of his customers had downloaded firmware to make it connect.

Does anyone know about this? I read a little bit about the recovery software removing the wife oops, I mean wifi. my bad.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Greg

same thing here. the recovery tool doesn't work either. did sandisk mass unload some mp3 players with crippled firmware? what's the deal?

also, it loses points for it's lack of linux connectability. since WMP 11 needs microsoft genuine advantage (bullshit!) and Wine can't grab my usb ports anyway, i had to find someone willing to install "microsoft genuine advantage" on their machine (not an easy task among tech savvy folks). i guess that's what i get for not researching a purchase though. still, MTP blows.

I'm not nearly as tech savvy but it's got a decent interface and it was cheap. I'll stick with it till I forget to take it out of my jeans on wash day.
cheers
