How are you listening? Headphones? Plugged into car system/home system etc?
My volume is decent w/earbuds but I need to crank it all the way up when plugging it into the car stereo. This is not unusual; I had the same issue when I owned an ipod.

Just bought it and did the firmware update...only decent volume is with the eq turned all the way up..all the pre sets such as jazz and such way too low..Have my language set for English..north America.....on system settings not any difference between High and normal volume.....litening to any classical is hard to hear most of the time......any ideas?..should I return and maybe go for a more expensive player?..Thank you
Tom
Nowhere in the little handbook does it tell you about the tiny volume control on the LHS next to the USB connector - press and hold the top next to the USB connector to increase volume.
Hi,
I also have the same problem. You say that you fixed the problem by changing the region - could you tell me how you did that?
I have tried the volume button beside the usb port, but the highest volume remains very low
Many thanks

Select "Reset all" under System settings. Next, the clip will promp you for language and region settings. Select "Rest of the world" to enable high volume setting (also found under system settings).

Thanks Proclo for your advice - I thought I was going deaf as I couldn't hear anything properly using my new Clip+
Do we Europeans have more sensitive ears than the rest of the world so that we have to be protected from loud music?
had the same problem - all volume on all tracks and radio was never loud. the 'rest of the world' setting solved it.

Many thanks everyone ... I thought I had gone deaf too. For anyone who doesnt have quite the same wording mine said Settings, System Settings, Reset Factory Settings ... and then it offered language where you can select Rest of the World. It works though ... brilliant
can someone please tell me, if I do the factory reset option (i too have volume bug) will I have to resync my library or will all my music remain. thanks you.
I just got my clip plus, has the same problems with low volume, tried the reset and used world settings, still has the low volume problem.
Me too have the same problem with the volume, the world settings doesn't work for me.
Is there any way to fix it? (maybe to send it back to Sandisk factory?)
Edit:
I reset the clip+ to America and the problem has been solved.
I had the above volume problem, and I think Sansa is really sweet for wanting to protect our hearing this way:) They should also pay attention to their translation services - in Icelandic the "rest" in "rest of the World" was translated into:
[rest]- noun
1.the refreshing quiet or repose of sleep: a good night's rest.
2.refreshing ease or inactivity after exertion or labor: to allow an hour for rest.
3.relief or freedom, especially from anything that wearies, troubles, or disturbs.

Thanks, everyone. I had the same prob - low volume on my Clip and Fuze. Too quiet when plugged into car stereo, or listening with 'phones in a car or put through my speaker system at home. I set it to "Rest of the World" - decent volume!
I even 'cured' my Sansa furze with the volume setting advice! I am not a Geek but an aged granny who loves Audio books. My furze was too soft to hear on planes and I do a lot of travelling, it was getting a little frail, so decided to update. If I had known this 'Fix' I might have stuck with it a bit longer. My clip is wonderful.
Thank you so much for the "Rest of world" fix :) Nice of them to want to protect our ears but a bit pointless having an mp3 player where you can't hear *anything*. Pity this fix was not in the manual, not even after all the polite talk about decibels etc. Thanks again!
