Finally actually managed to set up/load a NetLibrary book- mp3- using their Download Manager which puts files straight onto  Clip+...so it's not in WMP to check if it plays there.  I was beyond thrilled to have actually  gotten the book to the clip, but when I select it nothing actually plays, or at least I can't hear it.  Sound works fine on the radio and the weird songs (do I assume they were pre-loaded by Sandisk and that they're not evidence of a prior owner?). 

I did search for and read at least one other post I thought was dealing with my issue, but I either don't understand the ?s or the answers: one said "you have to use MTP mode (huh?) and sync the content using WMP"...don't know what MTP mode is and NetBooks Download Manager gave choice to load to WMP or device...I chose straight to Clip thinking there was less opportunity for me to get confused and screw something up.  I've not yet tried to get music moved to Clip from very 1st CDs I ripped onto WMP, so lord help me.
