I have a Sansa Fuze 8gb, and have been very happy with it with my current setup (going via some Audio Engine 5 speakers)

I was given an amp (Onkyo), and was planning on upgrading my speakers shortly (Dali Ikon 2 mk 2), with the goal of running my Fuze through the system.

(I never play from CD these days)

But, from what I gather, I may not be able to make full use of the Dali speakers frequency range (41 – 30,000Hz) as I read that the Fuze output is somewhat limited (I cannot find any exact figure about this, but I read somewhere it lacked a full frequency response range, especially with the lower bass end)

This is what I found : "the bass end of the spectrum is not low enough; it sounds like it’s cutting in somewhere around 80-100hz" (from here : http://anythingbutipod.com/2007/10/sandisk-sansa-clip-review/) . I understand the Clip uses the same hardware/software as the Fuze.

I cannot find any detail about this in any spec sheets for the Fuze.

Can someone shed some light on this, or advise how I can get the most out of this device? Maybe it is not worth me upgrading the speakers as I will not be able to hear the full range of the frequencies anyway?

I am listening to a lot of 'bass heavy' music (dub reggae), and old Motown/Funk/Soul Classics.
