Help please!
Just bought myself a Clip+ 8GB which seems to be working properly. I loaded it up with mp3s by dragging and dropping from Windows Explorer but now when I plug it in to my laptop the files are not showing. All I can see are the folders Audiobooks, Music, Playlists etc but when I open these they are all showing as empty even though the memory is full.
If it helps I am using Vista Home Premium.
Apologies if this topic has been covered before - I did look but couldn't see it anywhere.
Hi Tobile
The only way round I found was to format the player from the system settings menu. This obviously deleted all the files on the player. I have since reloaded music from Windows Media Player and all seems to be ok (so far!)
Hope this helps
Matt

hm
it did work. until now. an hour ago the clip+ stopped playing and now it can't be put on anymore. it doesn't react. dead.
great... :(
Just had this problem with my son's 4GB clip.
I eventually worked out that it is to do with the USB Mode settings. I've never really understood this properly anyway, but I changed it from MSC to MTP and suddenly it showed the files in the music folder just fine.
Hope that helps - it's a heck of a lot easier than formatting and reloading everything!
It is definitely the USB settings. When in MSC you can't see files added in MTP mode from the device view, and when in MTP mode, you can't see those loaded from the file system view. Switch the USB mode to see and manage the files you want to see and manage. This can be specific to the computer you attach it to.
