I have a new Clip+ 8G which I really like. I have a problem when attaching it to the AUX input on my car stereo. It plays fine at low volume, but when I turn the volume up on the Clip, the audio breaks up. I have the car audio up at max and need to have the Clip louder to hear over traffic.

Has anybody had this problem? Has anyone found a solution. I have tried 2 different Clip+ units - both with the same problem.

Thanks,

Steve

Try turning up the volume on the clip, but leave it two or three notches below max. Another option is to turn on pre-gain using the replaygain menu, but turning it up too high will tend to flatten your audio out (like the loudness problem on CDs lately).

I can't get the volume anyplace near the top without the audio breaking up.

My understanding is that the pre-gain is on a track by track basis and cannot be set in general.

Thanks,
Steve
