Can anyone tell me if there is a way to listen to my Sansa Clip while it is charging, either from the computer or the car adaptor.  I bought an Archos mp3 player which I used for a while when I was between Clip models and found it totally inferior except for this one area.... I was able to put it on charge whilst still listening to my talking books.  Is there anyway of getting around this??

The Sansa Clip+ manual says, "The battery can also be charged using an AC adapter (not included) or a car adapter (not included). You will be able to play your device while charging with one of the adapters.".

I can listen to my Clip+ when charging with an AC adapter but have not used a car adapter.

I am mostly charging with a USB lead from the computer but cant find a way to listen at the same time. I havent tried to do both when using the car charger so am not sure how that works

No, you can't listen while charging via USB lead to the computer. I got a USB male to female extension cord and a AC/USB adapter at the dollar store primarily so that I could charge without the computer but with the USB extension I can listen too while charging.

You can listen while charging from a USB lead, but you have to have it connected to a non-negotiating source (one that won't try to connect to the "data" part of the usb connection).

There are little car lighter adapters and home wall warts that will accept a regular USB cable that will provide power but not negotiate, and they are perfect for this application in a car (I use one on long trips in my car).
