Here's the whole story My 4gb Clip stopped working during a jog the other day. It would only turn on when plugged into to either a computer or charger, and would lose power immediately upon disconnecting. In the course of messing with it, I took all of my music off of it and then formatted it to see if that would help. It didn't. I finally tracked down the problem to the red battery lead coming unsoldered, so I soldered it back on and the Clip is powering up fine now. But when I plug it into the computer, the music folder is no longer there and the device won't let me make a new folder on it. I have 2 folders, data and media. The data folder only has a devlcon.fil file and media has nothing in it. Upon plugging into another computer, a very different set of folders showed up, I believe it was audibles, music, and voice. I copied a few songs into the music folder that showed up on this computer, but when I plugged the Clip back into my computer, the music folder isn't there. The songs are on the device though...also, when I try to stop the Clip so I can disconnect it, I get an error: The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later.

Any ideas?
