I purchased a 16 GB and an 8GB Fuze+ for my children. When we first used them, the lock command (press/hold play/pause for 3 seconds) worked. Then the firmware updated to 2.38.06A and now pressing and holding play/pause does not lock the device.
Is there a new command sequence to accomplish this or is this version of the firmware simply broken?

My 10 year old figured this out. Despite the claims of the user guide, the method for locking the Fuze+ is now to press the power button once (quickly). To unlock it, you press it quickly again.
The documentation should probably get updated to reflect this change in the firmware.
