Once extracted, drag all files to the root directory of your Sansa View. Disconnect the Sansa View and let it restart. (see notes below) The firmware update will now begin. Once it's finish with the update, it will boot back up. Go to the main menu, then select Settings / Options > System Settings , and verify the "Version" is now 01.03.02.

OK, my e280 series V1 constantly freezes up on me, refreshes database whenever I boot up, takes too long to boot up actually, and won't transfer my songs onto the player which usually results in "failed to load image" messages or more freeze ups. And to make matters worse, I am using the latest firmware so I just don't know what to do. I've heard great things about a more stable firmware with the fuze and I'm wondering how stable it is. Or if there is SOME way to fix my e280, then I won't really need to shell out 130 dollars for another player.

View FAQ's

Q: When I connect my View to my computer, it isn't recognized.. what do i do? A: 1st: make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements. 2nd: Check the device manager (if this is a windows PC), if the View shows up with a "!" mark, right-click on the driver, and select Uninstall. Then disconnect the View and re-connect it. If that fails, right-click and select update driver 3rd: If that fails, try downloading the MTP Porting Kit from Microsoft.com (XP) or download the KB940199 (Vista) 4th: If all the above fail, either force the player into MSC Mode (hold switch and press and hold the left or rewind button) and connect to the computer (done while the View is on). Or if you have the latest firmware (01.03.02), go into System Settings, and select USB Mode, and change it to MSC and connect it. If the player isn't recognized after all that, in either MTP or MSC mode (Autodetect is MTP BTW), try it on another computer. If it's recognized on another computer, then it's a Computer issue, and you'll want to contact your OEM or Microsoft. If it ISN'T recognized, then it's the View, at which point...

This firmware's main feature added, is that it now gives you the option to select MSC mode via the GUI. No more pressing and holding the left button with the hold switch..

I have a Sansa Fuze. I'm told that in order to flash the firmware from Linux, I need to go into recovery mode. However, I can't find out how to go to recovery mode. Is there a way, or do I need to do something else to flash the firmware? Please don't say to do something in Microsoft Windows as I cannot afford my own copy of Windows (I got this computer from a friend who thought it was broke because his Windows crashed out completely on him, so I had to install Linux in order to use it).

The Sansa View, with firmware versions 01.01.06 and 01.02.09 , does not have the option to switch between MSC and MTP in the submenu. In order to use the MSC mode, on the Sansa View, the following will need to be done... 1. Make sure the Sansa View is turned on. 2. Engage the hold switch, located on the left-hand side of the player. 3. Press and hold the LEFT BUTTON ( << ) 4. Connect to the computer while pressing and holding the LEFT BUTTON ( << ) 5. The Sansa View should now be connected in MSC mode and should appear as a "Removable Disk

Sandisk sent me a replacement for my Sansa m250 because the volume button had broken - great! Not so great - the new player won't download any album or artist info. The downloaded song will play, but the screen lists all that info as unknown so I can't sort my music or anything. I spent a frustrating 25 minutes on the phone the other night with live customer service (he was AWFUL!) and at the end he said he would email me instructions on how to update the firmware, but I've never gotten those instructions. So I checked the website and couldn't find a fimware update for the m-series. Next I emailed customer service for the instructions and they haven't sent them to me, either. Needless to say I am very disappointed. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions? Quick info: -I'm running Windows XP -Songs play, but do not show info -I have made sure the mp3 player was in the proper mode for downloading -I'm running Windows Media Player 10 with current updates -I have made sure the music is in .wmp or other compatible format on my PC -I checked to make sure all the artist...

Does Anyone know if the cable NORMALLY used to connect an IPOD to the computer to charge/connect is compatable with the Sansa View? I am only getting about 5-6 hours of music playing time and that JUST music not watching video, just turning on music and then sticking it into a backpack. Needless to say its frustring to be listing to a audiobook and have it stop playing 4 hours into my workday and being in a truck without a cigerret light to plug the car chager into means my listening time is over until I can get home. I Want to buy a portable charger but am scared to waste money on a ipod emergency charge if its not compatible with my View and then even possible risk frying my View. Thanks
