I know there are several threads about computers not recognizing the Fuze, but nothing seems to work for me. I have tried every possible way of fixing it but I've not been successful. I have like 3 months with my Fuze, I had it replaced because the other Fuze before this one suddenly stopped being recognized by the computer and all my songs got deleted. There was no way that I could sync any more music in it. Now this "new" Fuze that I have is not recognized by any computer I plug it to. I've used two different USB cables, three different computers: Windows Vista, Win2000 and Win98, many different USB outlets, and it still won't work. The only thing it does is charge the battery. I have Windows Media Player 11, I've always used it to sync music in my Fuze since the disk that came with it couldn't install Rhapsody in Windows Vista. I've been only able to put music in it by using a micro-SD card, but my MP3 player hasn't worked. I've tried everything I've found here. I downloaded the hotfixes in the support page, I've switched to MTP and MSC mode and auto-detect mode...

I have some interesting things happening. When I call up an album I like, it calls up each song one by one, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...and so on, then it reuns through them all again, each track popping up but not playing, then the whole Fuze shuts down. I hook up to the computer to put on podcasts and I'm told that I an not hooked up when I try to drag and drop, when I go through Windows Media Player, it says preparing to sync, which never goes away. What next? Should I panic yet? Thank you in advance.

I'm sure you guys have heard this before, but I am in dire need of a solution. When I'm trying to add videos to my Sansa Fuze, using the SMC mind you, it will do te following. Conversion bar- 100% Total files- 49% And this is where it freezes. No amount of time from what I've seen fixes this, and I'm beggining to suspect something more sinister is at work here, for I've tried the drag and drop method of known compatible file types and they don't even show up on the player, although they do show up on the VIDEO file. I do have videos on the player, I was able to get 2 on it no problem at all until this catastrophe. Do I need to format my player? Its brand new so it wouldn't be much of a loss music and video wise but... Any help would be appreciated.

128 vs. 192

Hi all. I just got my Fuze, and was wondering.....all the estimates on number of songs, battery life, etc. are based on the 128 bps encoding. I, in my glorious newbie-ness, before I got my Fuze, uploaded a boatload of cd's into my computer at 192...thinking it would sound better. Now my sis tells me that you can't really hear the difference, so how big a difference is there in space, battery life, and can you really hear the difference? Sorry to write a novel for a first post

I just synched my playlists to my Fuze SD Card using WMP 11. The Fuze is in auto detect mode (I know everybody says not to, but it worked ok up til last night.) WMP isn't showing that there are any files on the card!. I tried switching to MTP and then MSC modes, and WMP still doesn't show them. They do, of course show on the Fuze as I want them. What do I do? Am I doomed to have to having to reformat and resynch each time I make playlist changes (OK I need to resynch, I know that ). Interestingly enough, my files show up when I connect to Rhapsody, but while the playlists show up, they appear to be empty. Anybody know how to do playlists in Rhapsody. I've tried and only get the most recent one I've tried to make & regardless of what I call it, it says "new playlist" I'm ready to tear my hair out. HELP!

Hi, When my Fuze player is attached to AUX port in my car, and the volume is turned up, the player starts "skipping". This doesn't happen with the same music when the headphones are attached instead. Also, the car player doesn't "skip" when my son's iPod is attached, with the same cable, so the problem is definitely with the Fuze. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

Hello all, I bought the Fuze specifically so that I would not be hounded by the DRM stuff...but I have a question. Is the DRM software/extra bits tied to each song forever? I am thinking it is, but am asking your computer literates out there! I have an album I downloaded from ITunes before I found out about the rights issue but now want to put it on my Fuze. I have it on a CD and wasn't putting it anywhere else just to keep that stuff out of my new laptop. Does it make any difference at all? Just trying to get a handle on the way things are! Thanks.
For some reason, when I hook my Fuze up to my computer, I never get the option for syncing anymore....the one where you can choose to use Windows media player, etc. Was it supposed to continue to come up or did I do the same thing so many times that it assumes for me now? My question is....how do I choose how Fuze syncs up on a case by case basis? It synced up all my photos and I just don't want those on the Fuze to save space. Or can I choose a preference somewhere so that it will not automatically begin putting everything on it when I connect to my laptop? Thank you for any help! Jill

Audio book question

First I would like to extend a hearty hello to all. I am new to forums in general and the Fuze technology in particular. I recently purchased a Fuze (days ago) for the primary purpose of listening to audio books on my daily commute. I download books from netlibrary (a great service) and transfer them with Windows Media Player 11. Here in lies my question. It apprears that the Fuze will support chapters if activated in the audio book files. I can't seem to access this feature?? My sync function always loads the protected WMA's for the audio book into the music folder. How do I get my audio books to sync to the audio book folder on the Fuze?? I am hoping if I get the file identified and loaded correctly I can use the chapter feature. Currently I pause the playback and restart from pause. If I don't I end up starting from the beginning (8 - 18 hours of playback time makes this a problem). Am I missing some other type of bookmark feature? Any help from the informed user group would be greatfully appreciated.

accessories??

hey guys, I'm new the forum thing but I've got a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. I just bought a FUZE, and I'm trying to use it with an iHOME portable speaker system. My FUZE will connect to iPOD connector (snaps right on) but no audio is present from the speakers. I'm not dumb here, i know the 2 systems are probably not compatible...butt. The docking device is PERFECT for cycling, it mounts to my handle bars and has a ton of high quality sound, perfect for longer rides. So my questions is: Can I make the Fuse link with the iHOME thing OR does Sansa(or someone else) make a compatible/compareible device? I'd just like to see more accessories, and so far...I'm striking out. I LOVE the FUZE!! and can honestly say I'm not a iPOD fan...but they've got all the best accessories. So, I can still use the iHOME thingy with the headphone jack, but the jack is external and the device is held internally(where the adapter is). Any thoughts here would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks Bryan

Hi All: I've had my Fuze for about 4 days. Bought it to replace a Neuros (anybody heard of it?) that I'd been using for about 4 years - its harddrive took a dive and I initially thought I'd simply replace the drive with an even BIGGER one (100 Gb instead of only 30GB!) But then I found that the basic player had also failed - bummer! So far I like the Fuze! its easy to navigate, drag & drop to load it is a breeze, and it was immediately recoognised and "syncable" by MediaMonkey. Also it sounds good with decent headphones or speakers. Things I don't like: Proprietory connector that combines power and data functions, no built-in FM transmitter, no carrying case, and dispite the availablity of a User's Manual, it was not included in the package, nor did the packaging have a pointer to an on-line version, nor was it included in the Rhapsody (Wrap-so-deedle?) CD. No included power adapters. Thanks to these Forums, I found and downloaded the manual. If anyone else would like FM xmitter, and power adapters, here is what I've found: a) Satechi FM Transmitter and Car charger for Sansa e series. The manufacturer...

OK, my e280 series V1 constantly freezes up on me, refreshes database whenever I boot up, takes too long to boot up actually, and won't transfer my songs onto the player which usually results in "failed to load image" messages or more freeze ups. And to make matters worse, I am using the latest firmware so I just don't know what to do. I've heard great things about a more stable firmware with the fuze and I'm wondering how stable it is. Or if there is SOME way to fix my e280, then I won't really need to shell out 130 dollars for another player.
