Can anyone give me a clue? I have a Sansa Fuze 8 gb and I use it for audiobooks almost exclusively. When I'm trying to remove some of the books I've already read, I get the following: Cannot delete (Title): The storage is write protected. Remove the write-protection and try again. I would like to know how to remove said "write-protection". I haven't had any luck with the manual or any of the sites I've searched. Thanks. the bookworm
[Read more]

I purchased a 16 GB and an 8GB Fuze+ for my children. When we first used them, the lock command (press/hold play/pause for 3 seconds) worked. Then the firmware updated to 2.38.06A and now pressing and holding play/pause does not lock the device. Is there a new command sequence to accomplish this or is this version of the firmware simply broken?

Hi, I recently inherited my husband's Samsung 8gb micro sd card class 2 from his HTC Inspire phone. We upgraded his phone to a 16 gb and i thought i could use his 8gb card in my fuze. I have been using a Kingston 8gb class 4 card for several years, i put all my audible books on it, and it works great. I have used an adaptor to put this Samsung card into my SD card slot on my laptop, then deleted all the files off of it. That didn't work, so i formated the card using the formatter on my Vista laptop. The card still doesn't work. When i put it in the Fuze, and attach it to my computer, Windows Explorer sees it and tells me i have 7.40 gb free. So i tried to transfer an audio book to it with Overdrive, the usual way that works, and i get an error message: (Cannot create folder: The Portable player (Sansa Fuze 8gb - external uSD Card") does not support this function."So i tried the same thing on my other external card and it worked fine. Audible Manager doesn't recognise the card either. when i plug the...

I'm not exactly sure when i got this sansa... it was either Late 2010 or early 2011... I'm thinking within the first few months of 2011. I've been using it just fine. My sansa went dead and normally it takes a minute or two to turn on when i connect it to the computer for it to charge. This time though, It won't connect no matter what computer i plug it into. No screen pops up from the player, and no notification pops up on the computer. I tried resetting it too. But I'm not sure why it's not working.

I charged my Sansa over night as usual then unplugged it from my computer and put it in my brief case. A couple hours later I pulled it out and noticed it felt very warm, especially the lower right hand corner on the back. I tried to turn it on and nothing would happen. I don't have mu documentation with me. Whats the best way to contact tech support? I got it as a Christmas present so I don't think I have a receipt.
Netlibrary MP3 audiobooks

Have been using my Fuze for a couple of years, lots of audio books (mostly Overdrive WMAs). Lately downloaded some Netlibrary MP3 audiobooks, and noticed an irritating difference: the Overdrive WMA books show up by title under Audiobook (I transfer them directly to that folder), but the Netlibrary MP3 books (which I copy and paste to the Audiobooks folder) all appar under "Unkown." So I end up with two levels of audiobook files: Music > Audiobooks > "Title 1" (Overdrive WMA) "Title 2" (Overdrive WMA) "Unknown" > "Title 1" (Netlibrary MP3) "Title 2" (Netlibrary MP3) I have edited the ID Genre tags (in Mp3Tag) of the MP3 files from "Netlibrary Audiobook" (the default Genre tag) to just "audiobook" - no change. I noticed that in Mp3Tag the WMA files have different Genre tag labels - Fiction, Non-Fiction, etc - so I tried those lables as well - still no help. Is there a way to make the Netlibrary audiobooks show up on the same file level as the WMA audiobooks?

Questions About Video

I am new to the Sansa Fuze (8Gig) and am having problems getting video to work. Sansa Media Converter seems nowhere to be found so I have tried using Any Video Creator to create a 220x174 MP4 file (512) and copied it to the Video file in my player. It does not appear when I look for it but I can see it with my computer. I have a few questions; What happened to Sansa Media Converter? What is the best software to use for converting video and transfering it to the player? What is the best video file to cerate for the player? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Playlists not recognized

I recently bought a refurbished Sansa Fuze 8GB from Overstock.com. I had a 4GB Fuze that I was very happy with and that I managed using Rhapsody. When I got the new one, I was unable to drag and drop playlists into the new player, although I could move song files. After looking at the user's manual, I tried using Windows Media Player to load the player. I tried to synch my playlists: the song files were loaded, but not the playlists themselves. I even tried copying the playlists to the player using Windows Explorer: The playlist files are visible on the player through Explorer, but when I select playlists on the player, nothing appears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
