Radio Retaliation - Has Thievery Corporation Gotten Too Political?

I've been a longtime fan of Thievery Corporation . Ever since I first purchased Sounds of the Thievery Hi-Fi, they have been one of my most listened to groups, if not the most listened to, in my entire collection. I've liked some of their albums better than others (Sounds of the Thievery Hi-Fi, Abductions and Reconstructions, and the Mirror Consipracy are my favorites) but I still love (and own) every one. My concern with their new album, Radio Retaliation, is that they may be getting too political, and that could mire what is in my opinion the "purity" of their music. I'm not concerning myself with what the message is, only that there is indeed a message, and that it could overpower the essence and purity of their "outernational" sound. (Although some may argue that being outspoken about your feelings on world issues is the essence of their sound.) Admittedly, many of their other albums are political or at least have some political themes (read: The Richest Man In Babylon ) and I have never minded, since it seems well-integrated into the music. The preview on MySpace ( ugh, I know, but it has a preview ) sounds great, though,...

What do you guys think of Maddonna's song - Triggering your senses? Here are the lyrics and the song but to me it sounds just like all the other ones she puts out. Dance, you're not fighting Dance, you're not lying Dance, you're not cheating Dance, you're only triggering your senses You're not dying Dance, you're not crying Dance, you're not killing yourself You're only triggering your senses You're only triggering your senses Dance is a lovely friend Dance to your heart's content Dance and we don't pretend Dance is your only friend When you're on the street To a different beat When you're feeling down When there's no one else around Dance, you're not taking Dance, you're not hating Dance, you're not kiling yourself You're only triggering your senses You're only triggering your senses [Triggering Your Senses lyrics on http://top10mp3download.blogspot.com ] A hip, a hip, a hippety hop and you don't stop, you get on your feet You do the hip hop to a different beat I know you don't stop when you're on the street You're not feeling down and there's no one else around You get on your feet until you hear the funky beat, beat, beat,...

So, a few weeks ago I hear the radio man announce the newest single from Rhianna. Yeah, I know, she's like, so hot right now, right? I loved that "Umbrella" song the first 100 times I heard it. So what's the name of the pop tart's newest ditty? "Take a Bow." WTF is this? A cover of the 1994 Madonna ballad I hold in such high regard as one of the most wrenching break-up songs ever? Let's see if this girl can hold a candle to her Madgesty.... But Rhianna doesn't even get the chance. Why would you write a song about how a break-up resembles the final act of a performance, when it's already been done so superbly by Madonna and (co-writer) Babyface? And to have the further audacity to give it the same name of what so happened to be the highest-selling single of 1995? It's a darn rip-off. And considering how vindictive the persnickity queen of pop can be, Rhianna is lucky she isn't getting her *** sued. But then again, I guess it's not her fault because she didn't even write it. Here is madonna's video: Here is Rhianna's I dunno; I might be coming off...

I need some help...

I have a Sansa e280. I made a playlist in my library, which I can see and listen to. I want to get it onto my player, but when I sync it, it doesn't seem to work. It doesn't give me an error message or anything, but when I look for the playlist on my player, I can't find it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong!! So my other problem is that my player seems to be losing some of my songs. I have albums that I have ripped and synced onto my player. I have listened to them before on my player, but recently, when I go to play the few albums where this is occurring, it will have half the songs' titles as being "Unknown". My player will not play those songs and just skips to the next "available" song in that album or whatever. I don't know what the problem is, or if maybe there is something wrong with my specific player. If anyone out there has any tips, I would appreciate it!!

After spending so much time in the car, I gave it a shot and now I love them! If you like audio books, what's in your library? Where do you get your content from? There are quite a few sites on the 'net for book downloads. Which ones are your favorites?

I'm looking at purchasing the sansa e280 primarily to use to record lectures at school. I'd like to hear about anyone's experience using the voice recorder on their e-series sansa. I'm curious about the microphone's performance for recording in a lecture hall. I have no doubt the mic would work well for making brief notes to yourself, but how good of a job does the pinhole mic work when a speaker paces back and forth about 15-25 feet away? Also, does the recorder have a maximum length of time that a single recording can be or can I record as long as I have available memory space? Please provide your own experiences. Thanks.
