Audio Help

Hey all.. i have a sansa clip + and i use foobar2000 as my music player.. anyway i used the program "mp3gain" on my mp3's to even them out and then on foobar i used replaygain on them all (because i have some flacs too that don't work with mp3gain) and for whatever reason my flac audios are a lot louder on my sansa.. but there ARE a few mp3 songs that sound loud but the majority are extremely soft and weak. I'm not sure what to do, whether the mp3 gain took off dB and then replay gain took off extra or something, that's why flacs weren't effected or whatever.. but yeah just need some help? thanks.

Battery dying?

I bought a e260r about two or three years ago. Is it about the time the battery died? I had a few problems with it before, such as when it became frozen an unresponsive state with the lights on, which I fixed by just momentarily pulling out the battery. I've sometimes fully drained the battery in which it would auto shutdown and trying to restart it would give a low battery warning and shut down again. I used it unroutinely, mostly on workout days. I'm afraid the "dirty" car power did something bad to the internals by charging it using a Belkin car adapter once on a long road trip. Using it on a full charge, it "died" about 30 minutes out on a bike ride heading up a mountain. It wouldn't turn on at all. It worked again once I got home and pulling out the battery for a second and indicated a full charge. It happened again after maybe 10 minutes on another occasion, when I was just starting to lift weights. I didn't "reseat" the battery this time, but left it sit a couple of days unused and just plugged it into my computer and my computer...

Which Sansa player is best for use in a car?

I was able to use a Clip in my car for a while, but it stopped working. ( See this thread ) Now I'm looking for a new player. I have a USB charger from the car's Accessory power, and an audio input to the car stereo system with a 3.5mm plug. I want a player that will turn itself on when DC power is applied by a USB charger and go into play mode. When DC power is turned off, I would like it to shut down. The next time power is applied, it should pick up playing again from where it was when it shut down. I want to get an inexpensive player so it won't be a target for theft, and because the automotive environment is tough. Any suggestions?

Connected Mode when charging in car?

I have a Clip that I have been using in my car. I have a mini-USB car charger to keep it charged, and the audio output goes to the car stereo's aux input. This system worked fine for several months. When I turned on the car, power was applied from the USB charger, and the clip turned on and started to play from wherever it last stopped. When I turned off the ignition, the Clip shut down after a short time (Auto Power Off mode). Recently, the Clip started going into "Connected" mode whenever the charging cable is connected. There is no computer present - only the power (+5) and Ground signals are used on the USB charger. What could have changed in the Clip to cause it to interpret simple charging power as being connected? What can I do to solve the problem? Thanks! From the Clip manual, page 6: "The battery can also be charged using an AC adapter (not included) or a car adapter (not included) and you will be able to play your device while charging with one of the adapters. "

Hello I have formatted my Sansa View into NTFS and after that everything worked fine at first (could synchronize with WMP). But after that the View crashed and now doesn´t start anymore. If I put it on it reboots several times and then stucks at the Sansa boot logo. I tried to put the firmware on it in the recovery mode but after that it ended in the same problem. I also put a empty file with the name "Sansa.fmt" on it, but there didn´t happen anything. Do I do anything wrong? Can anyone help me please??

Sansa Media Converter won't Convert Video

It's supposed to be easy to load a video into the Fuze...forget it! We're supposed to be able to drag the video (in any of a number of popular formats) into the provided Sansa Media Converter software, and then just drag and drop the converted video into the Fuze itself. That doesn't work -- 'Convert' is grayed out and doesn't respond. I called tech support and they told me it's a known problem and that my issue was escalated to a senior technician who would contact me in 24-48 hours. 48 hours later, no contact so I called again. This time I was told that the senior technician to whom the case was assigned was on leave and he would contact me once he got back and was able to familiarize himself with the case. Maybe 24 hours. !!!!????? This is for a known issue. So we have a product from a major company that doesn't work because of a known issue, with only one senior technician authorized to handle it, but the senior technician is gone for days and they don't know when he'll be back. This is almost too bizarre to contemplate.

I am new to Sansa. Does anyone have any tips on prolonging the life of the Fuze battery (8gb)? for instance, is it better to listen to the player plugged in and charging, or to let it run on the battery and charge when depleted? I want my Fuze to last longer than 2 years, my wife won't let me buy another player for a while.... thanks in advance

I read that the only way to get pictures and videos on the Fuze is by using Sansa Media Converter and certain other converters around. So I don't understand something, since I had the Fuze for about 3 weeks ago I've been saving-jpg,jpeg- pictures onto my computer and sending them to the Sansa Fuze file without the Sansa Media Converter, without a problem but I've tried putting- avi- videos from the computer on there and the Fuze says it doesn't support it or something along the lines of that. Can anybody explain this better to me, and has anybody been able to get videos on with the SM Converter? Thanks!

Many people ask me the same question: "I purchased videos on iTunes, but I can't play them on my video player, because they are in some 'protected' M4V format that only works on iPods. How can I convert iTunes videos to MPEG or WMV format so I can play them on My portable video device such as Archos and Creative Zen?" I searched on Google, Yahoo answers and post the question on large number of forums, unfortunately, after scouring the Web for days, I couldn't find a FREE way to convert M4V to MPEG, WMV or AVI format. Then I tried to burn the iTunes video onto a DVD and re-import it into iTunes just like how to remove the protection from the iTunes audios (M4P) by burning it onto a CD and re-import it as mp3. I failed, cause iTunes doesnt have a DVD burning option, then I used Nero, but it still doesnt work as Nero doesnt supports M4V format. And finally, a software solution. I came across a few kinds of converters on Google search, they are Tunebite, Daniusoft and Noteburner. When I was testing the free trials one by one, what makes me comfortable is the...

I am new to mp3 stuff. I just created a playlist in media player and synced it with my sansa view, thinking that it would automatically save it in sansa's "playlist" on the menu. Then I could play just the albums in the playlist file and not everything on the sansa. I do not see the playlist file in the playlist section of the menu. All the songs are there scattered throughout the memory. How do I put a group of albumns in one file on the sansa so I can listen to that group only? I ride a bike and can't be fiddling with the mp3 controls once I'm on the road. Thanks
